How can it be that we’re already thinking of Christmas?
It snowed for the first time in Minnesota a few days ago and that instantly put me in the holiday mood. Now, I know that I’m an early Christmas enthusiast. If I had my way, I would break out the Christmas music in September and skip Halloween altogether. But alas, I don’t think my family would be all too happy about that one.
Naturally, though, I’ve started thinking about what I’ve got on my Christmas list this year – and perhaps it might give you a few ideas about what to wish for.
01 – A good pair of work boots
Now, I’m an outdoorsy gal at heart. And this year, that’s meant a lot of hiking and oddly enough, hauling trees and learning to chop wood (which is surprisingly fun). However, it also means that I’ve worn my old pair of hiking/work boots to death, and I’m in need of another pair. Hence why it makes spot #1 on my Christmas list this year. My two favorite pairs are the Mustang boots and the Norway Ice-Grip boots from Overland, and here are a few of the other pairs that I’m eyeing.
02 – A Western Hat
If you know me, you know I’m a hat gal. And while I love my fedoras and wide-brim rancher hats, I’ve got my eye on a Cattleman style western hat that I can’t help but dream about. Here’s a few of my favorites.
03 – Knee-High Western Boots
On the note of boots – not only do I love and wear to death my work boots, but I ADORE a western boot. There’s something so classic about a snip-toe knee-high silhouette that has the ability to make me swoon. And also immediately start blasting Zach Top on Spotify, let’s be real. Here’s my favorite from Idyllwind, plus a couple pairs that I wish were already in my closet:
04 – A Shearling Jacket
I can’t even describe how much I already love my Overland Lacey jacket – I quite literally wear it every day in the winter – but I also wouldn’t mind a longer version for when those temperatures really dive below zero. Here’s a couple I’ve got my eye on.
05 – A Mini-Drone
Any photographer knows this feeling – you see a new tech launch and can’t help but feel intrigued. I’ve got my eye on a mini-drone that lands in your hand, captures stunning aerial content, and can be piloted all from your phone. If that doesn’t sound like a Christmas treat, I don’t know what is.
06 – A Bottle of Tignanello
We all know by now that I’m an immense fan of Tignanello. So it should come as no surprise that a bottle of their latest vintage makes the list. Plus, these wine glasses are the perfect way to enjoy a bottle of this super Tuscan red with your closest pals.
07 – A Bottle of Brother’s Bond Bourbon
This was a surprising favorite over the last year – and I never miss an opportunity to restock my bar cart. Brother’s Bond Bourbon – an award-winning bourbon whiskey created by Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley – is a beautiful blend of oak and caramel, light enough for the early evenings and sophisticated enough for the whiskey connoisseur. Here’s a few of my bar essentials to go along with it.
08 – Wool Socks
If there’s one thing I live in during the winter – especially Minnesota winters – it’s wool socks. They’re what we never wanted at eight years old, but love to get in our stockings today – wool socks for me are an everyday essential. Here’s a few of my favorite pairs.
09 – A Wool Quarterzip Sweater + Baselayers
Speaking of wool – there’s nothing that can keep you warmer in the frigid winter temps. And because I’m an active skier and LOVE to spend time outside, baselayers and a warm wool sweater are a must each time you venture outdoors when the temperatures dip below 30 degrees. Here’s a few that I have my eye on this year.
10 – A FourSeasons Spa Giftcard
Who doesn’t love a spa day? This one is kind of self-explanatory – but honestly, in the middle of the winter season, a little spa day and sauna session just sounds wonderful. And the Four Seasons is hard to beat.
