Hello my darlings, and welcome to the new Monochrome Minimalist!
Firstly, I would like to thank those of you that are regular readers and supporters of my blog and of me. To you, and all of you who have subscribed to Monochrome Minimalist to stay in the know, your support means the absolute world to me.
Out With the Old & In With the New
As you can probably tell, Monochrome Minimalist has been given a new look. Previously, I really hadn’t been as active on my blog because I was finding that I was quite uninspired by the way my content was looking on the site. I wanted to achieve more of an editorial look, but was finding that I was a bit limited with the previous layout. Upon this realization, I knew that I wanted to undergo a re-brand and give the site a (much needed) face lift. At first, I wasn’t sure where to start; I then turned to places I frequently looked for inspiration – publications like Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and The Impression. If I was going to change my site, it was going to be a head-to-toe transformation.
The New Monochrome Minimalist
I wanted to create a collection of content from which I’ve been inspired to create and still receive inspiration from in the future. My new vision for this blog is to refine and shift my content as my interests do the same. Monochrome Minimalist is my space on the internet, and I’d like for my internet space to be representative of me – meaning that it will modernize, change, adapt and shift depending on what inspires me and my writing. My passion for editorial content is no secret. If you were to look at any of my Pinterest boards, you would know this already. Because of this, editorial concepts were something that I really wanted to start bringing into Monochrome Minimalist, not just the Street Style type imagery that you may be used to seeing. I love the moody aesthetic that many editorials tend to capture in the publications I admire, and I wanted to try and integrate this image style into Monochrome Minimalist as well.
In terms of new content, I want to branch into more lifestyle topics instead of only focusing on fashion. I’d like for Monochrome Minimalist to resemble a fashion and lifestyle publication similar to one that I would be inclined to create if I were to branch into print or online publications. I like the idea of advice columns, cocktail recipes, hot destinations and fashion to tie it all together. To sum it up, I’m really focusing on curating and creating content that is 100% me, not just something I feel as though I need to write to fit a specific niche.
