PEEK BEHIND THE SCENES.

London Diaries: The Gardens

One thing that I love about London is the large amount of greenery – parks and gardens scattered all throughout the city. Being the massive city that it is, and the multicultural hot spot that it is, some may wonder if you can ever step away from the busyness and chaos of it all.

Last year, when I spent quite a lot of time in London, I was immediately drawn to Kensington. The pristine whites, complemented by the draping wisteria and the charming little primroses. However, it wasn’t just the stunning neighbourhoods that caught my attention. A short walk away was one of the most beautiful gardens I’d ever seen. Massive amounts of greenery, a flower trail, a pond with more swans than I’d ever seen in one place before and Italian gardens whose charm nearly took my breath away.

Upon coming back this year, and being fortunate enough to live in Central London, those gardens had been on my mind. Little did I know upon moving in, these gardens were a mere 10 minutes’ walk away from my flat. Since my arrival, I’ve spent nearly all of my down time walking around Kensington Gardens and reacquainting myself with just how beautiful they really are. I have yet to be tired of them.

I love watching the many different people that come through the park – from skipping little children to the older couples going for a weekend stroll. There is something so serene about being able to hear all of the chaos and calamity going on outside of the garden gates, but the moment you step inside, it all seems to melt away.

I’ve always thought that upon moving to a new place, it’s important to find the spots in which you like to spend your time. It doesn’t just need to be a spot to relax in – it could be a favourite pub, your corner cafe, a coffee shop or like me, a beautiful garden. When it comes to favourite places, I’ve certainly found mine.

Do you have a favourite type of place to spend your time? What is it for you? Also, if any of you have any recommendations for food hot spots or even just a really good coffee in the London/Greater London area, I would love to hear them! Let me know in the comments! Until next, xoxo.

  1. I loved all the greenery and parks in London. Kyoto Gardens was really pretty. My friend and I saw a guy proposing to his girlfriend there 💖 there was a really cute cafe I went to all the time. It’s not far from Victoria station and close to Buckingham palace. I think it’s called the English Rose cafe. They have really nice teas and food!

Aren’t they incredible?! Oh, that’s amazing – thank you for the recommendation, darling! I’ll definitely have to try it! xxxx
