It’s time for the yearly shopping rush! Christmas Season is starting and people are hurrying around to get the best bargains for everyone on their list this year. Personally, the day that I most look forward to during this shopping weekend is Small Business Saturday. I love being able to support smaller businesses and supporting the community members behind them.
This year, there’s one small business that I cannot wait to pop in to for a quick shop. I’ve recently been introduced to Red’s Mercantile, a modern home goods and accessories shop that’s recently started selling women’s clothing. The shop itself is minimalist, inviting and very Scandinavian in its decoration and heritage. The timeless aesthetic that Red’s has is what initially drew me to the shop. Red’s is full of pieces that you can wear season to season, year after year.
If you’re familiar with my blog, you’ll know that I love a good sweater. A recent favourite of mine from Red’s is the Sherpa Maui Turtleneck. The high neck silhouette is perfect for those chilly winter days that are looming in the coming weeks. I love wearing the collar popped on this sweater, it keeps the neck super warm and also the brushed fleece outside is to die for.
One of the best aspects of Red’s Mercantile is which brands they feature in their shop. Everything that is sold there is made in America, supporting the regional economies and local makers. One of the accessory lines that Red’s carries is one I’ve been swooning over for the past couple weeks. The line is from Token Jewelry – they’re having a pop-up in Red’s today (make sure to check it out!) – one of my favourite pieces has to be the Nines earrings. Dainty jewelry has been one of my favourite trends of the past few years, and this pair of earrings captures the trend wonderfully. They can be worn day to night, as they are simplistic and easy to transition from a casual day to a night out on the town.
When it comes to shopping for the Christmas season, each gift you’d find at Red’s is incredibly unique. Red’s Mercantile has something for everyone – whether you’re interested in natural beauty ranges, Scandinavian cooking, minimalistic jewelry designs or cozy pieces to wrap up in this winter.
Supporting small businesses like Red’s Mercantile is one of my favourite things to do – all throughout the year, especially during the Christmas season. There is a certain atmosphere in the Red’s, one of an inviting nature and a uniqueness to each that is quite enjoyable to experience each time you set foot in the shop.
Are you going to support your local small businesses today? Where is your favourite place to shop? Let me know in the comments!
A huge thank you to Red’s Mercantile for collaborating on this post!
